I am a professional artist living in Perth Western Australia and NE Thailand. My web gallery Peach Tree Gallery is the first and oldest in the world. I have lived in Thailand on and off for over a decade and my wife owns Mekong House which is the home of the Thailand Painting Holidays guesthouse owned and operated by her sister.

Painting by Johanne Cullen 'Witness' #art #painting #jeremyholton
Painting by Johanne Cullen 'Witness' I like this but I am not keen on the way the city in the background has been misted out on either side. What do you think?

Painting by Lady Pink 'Ghetto Pink' #art #painting #jeremyholton
New York City.- The Woodward Gallery is pleased to show "Lady Pink - Evolution", on view at the gallery from November 5th through December 30th, with an artist reception on Saturday, November 5th from 6-8pm. Lady Pink is the first woman in graffiti based art. In her current solo exhibition "Evolution," Lady Pink re-masters work she once created as public murals. Lady Pink muses on old lettering outlines which have evolved from three decades of writing. To the cultured eye, Lady Pink’s street tag can be identified from the period in which it was deliberately constructed. The colorful POP- surreal canvases today, have her trademark name interwoven throughout the elaborate image, as if to authenticate her mark in art history. Lady Pink’s unique personal vision has been communicated throughout her evolution from subway writer to fine artist.

Painting by Walton Ford 'The Island' #art #painting #jeremyholton
BENTONVILLE, ARK.- Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art has acquired a major new work by Walton Ford, an artist winning international acclaim for his highly detailed, monumental watercolors of exotic birds, reptiles and mammals. In 'The Island', Ford presents a writhing pyramidal mass of Tasmanian wolves (thylacines) grappling with each other and a few doomed lambs. The violent extermination of the thylacines, which were hunted to extinction in the early 20th century, calls into question who is hunter and hunted in this savage tableau

Arnold Bocklin #art #painting #jeremyholton
I love this. It reminds me of the relationship between my wife and myself, I hardly think I need to let you know which of the characters is me. Bocklin's 'Isle of the Dead' is iconic and continues to influence me.
Etching by Whistler 'The Unsafe Tenement' #art #etching #jeremyholton
Its interesting the way he created patterns of triangles in this work and he has lost the figure in the background so that it is discovered does not pull the eye.

Painting by Martin Eder "Ein Jahr ohne Licht - Une Annee sans Lumiere" #art #painting #jeremyholton
This is a really strange and disturbing painting. The disconnected hand on the left girl's hip, the greying of her hand, the way in which her lower body and her left leg don't quite connect with her body. The red (blood0 on the right girl's hand and the area of confusion at the rear of the animal. All set off by their faces.

Pierre Bonnard painting "White interior" #art #painting #jeremyholton
Pierre Bonnard painting "White interior" Bonnard was probably the greatest colourist of all time and has been an inspiration to me over many years. This is not one of his best paintings but it has his typical patches of colour harmonies and of course his model (eventually his wife) Martha who never grew old. Always half seen and lost in colour. Sorry forgot to attach the image again.
